PaceMate is operated by NEVER RUN ALONE LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales. We are the data controller for the information described below.

Your first name, derived age, city, rough distance band, public profile text, approved profile photo, running preferences and verification badge. Full date of birth, exact coordinates, trusted contact details, report notes and moderation records are not public.

Email login, date of birth, profile answers, rough city, precise matching coordinates, photos, messages, matches, run plans, check-ins, completion events, trusted contact details, reports, blocks and privacy-minimised analytics.

To run the account, match compatible runners, protect users, moderate photos and reports, prevent abuse, keep basic product analytics and meet legal obligations.

Other users only see public profile and match/run information they need. Supabase and Netlify process data as hosting/auth/database providers. Admin reviewers can see moderation, report and verification data when needed.

Precise coordinates are used server-side for compatibility. The app returns only broad distance bands and public meeting points.

Photos stay private until approved. Replacing an approved photo sends it back to pending moderation.

We process your account, profile and matching data to perform our contract with you. We rely on legitimate interests for safety, moderation, abuse prevention and basic product analytics. Where you give us optional information, such as a profile photo or a trusted contact, we rely on your consent and you can withdraw it at any time.

Account and profile data is kept while your account is open and erased within 30 days of a deletion request. Messages are kept for 12 months. Safety reports, blocks and moderation records are kept for up to 3 years so we can act on repeat behaviour. Analytics events are kept for 24 months.

You can ask us for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or ask for it in a portable format. Use Delete account in Settings, or email us. We respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Delete account removes your profile from discovery, erases your private matching data, cancels any active Run Now post and clears this device. Photos and login records are erased within 30 days. Messages you sent may remain visible to the other runner, and safety records are kept for the period above.

Our hosting and database providers, Supabase and Netlify, process data on our behalf. Some processing may take place outside the UK under appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

You must be at least 18 to use PaceMate. Date of birth is stored privately and only a derived age is shown.

Use your own account, accurate profile details and photos you have the right to use. Do not impersonate another person.

PaceMate helps people arrange runs, but it cannot guarantee that another runner is safe, punctual, honest or suitable. Meet in public, tell someone where you are going and leave if anything feels wrong.

Blocking, reporting, trusted-contact sharing, check-in and core safety information must remain free.

PaceMate is new. Some review steps are handled manually and support is limited to email. Do not rely on PaceMate for emergencies or urgent safeguarding.

We can restrict, suspend or remove accounts that break these rules, create safety risk, abuse the reporting system, spam other runners or try to bypass moderation.

We provide PaceMate with reasonable care and skill, but we do not vet runners and we are not a party to any run you arrange. Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.

Friendly messages, practical run planning, public meet points, pace honesty, changing your mind and blocking without explanation.

Harassment, sexual pressure, hate, threats, doxxing, scams, spam, illegal content, stalking, repeated unwanted contact, fake profiles, unsafe route pressure or turning up at someone's home.

No explicit, stolen, misleading or non-person profile photos. Photos can be rejected or removed.

Reports should include useful context. False or abusive reports can also lead to account action.

Run Now is for near-term public runs only. Do not use it to pressure someone into a private location or a route they did not agree to.

Keeps exact home location private, uses compatibility gates, supports blocking and reporting, stores safety reports for review, limits photos to approved images and keeps core safety tools free.

Meet in public, share run details with a trusted contact, check in, avoid isolated first routes, respect pace boundaries and leave if anything feels off.

Use Report from Safety Centre or chat. A beta admin must review reports, preserve serious safety records and remove illegal or dangerous content when aware of it.

PaceMate is not monitored as an emergency service. If someone may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
